Being pregnant is hard work. Mums-to-be need to be celebrated. And, if this is baby number 2, 3 or more then they deserve real pampering! Take the time to make the baby shower special by inviting people who really care about the mum and will be enthusiastic about the event.

Sending an invitation in the post sets the right tone for the event. If you know the sex of the child to be, then make this known on the invitation.  Setting a theme for the gifts is always helpful and fun. "Things to pamper the mum", "books for the baby's first library", "Music for mum and tot".

**A great gift for mum is always stationery. She will be getting so many gifts she and the baby will need loads of stationery on which to write Thank You notes. Or pitch in together and give a Gift Voucher to help the new parents defray the cost of Birth Announcements.
